This happened with a Dear Friend of Mine Lokesh Sriram who studied in Prasanthi Nilayam from his School days to his College days in Swami's Institute. After finishing his schooling in the High School, He wrote the entrance exams for the Institute, after that he went home confident of the letter of admission which never came.
When he came to know that he was not selected He was devastated, he cried for days together, Why did Swami do this to him?, what wrong had he commited in all the years in Prasanthi Nilayam ?, He sat for Hours dissillusioned with Life, Once while going out he went to the Pooja room and while praying Saw the Rose on Swami's Photo fall, He kept it
thrice and still it feel, he managed to put it on the Photo, Just when he was leaving He got a telegram saying that he was selected for the Institute, His joy knew no bounds, But How?, his name was never there.
When he joined the Institute, Swami spoke to him in the Mandir Portico saying that "He was with Him during every prayer that he done in his House" and that Swami had wanted him to understand the "Value of Studying in Swami's Institute" as he was taking things for granted about the admission.
This goes to show that wherever we are, Swami is always with us in our Prayers, when one prays Swami is always with us, always.
Om Sai Ram
PS: In God's creation, there is nothing like sorrow. Whatever God does is for the welfare of humanity. Some people feel depressed and wail as to why God gave those troubles and sorrows. But, sorrows and difficulties are our own making. God does not differentiate or cause trouble to anyone. Sorrows and difficulties are only your feelings. Everything in God's creation is meant to provide happiness and convenience to the living beings. That is what I have been repeatedly emphasizing. Whether you are in sorrow or enjoying happiness, always think that everything is for your own good. One has to develop a firm conviction that whatever God does is for one's own good and not for putting one to trouble.
Food when left unconsumed for long becomes stale and emits foul smell. So too, when our faults are not corrected, they will have a negative impact on our own lives. We must persist in the internal cleansing process, either by our own efforts or by heeding to the advice of those sympathetic souls who have succeeded in cleansing themselves. If we do not do it, like the plate of cooked food left aside too long, our life will begin to degenerate.
"The Lord does not test a man just for fun; He does not pile calamity because He enjoys it. Examinations are held, to measure achievement and award marks and honors. You must ask to be examined, so that your progress may be recorded ". SRI SATHYA SAI --You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "premasai.gurukulam" group.

Sathya Sai Baba -- His Works
ReplyDeleteSathya Sai Baba is a highly revered spiritual leader and world teacher, whose life and message are inspiring millions of people throughout the world to turn God-ward and to lead more purposeful and moral lives. His timeless and universal teachings, along with the manner in which he leads his own life, are attracting seekers of Truth from all the religions of the world. Yet, he is not seeking to start a new religion. Nor does he wish to direct followers to any particular religion. Rather, he urges us to continue to follow the religion of our choice and/or upbringing.
Sathya Sai Baba publicly declared his mission in 1940, at the age of 14. Since then, he has daily exhibited in practical and concrete terms the highest ideals of truth, right conduct, peace, love, and nonviolence. He has often stated, "My life is my message." Each day, hundreds of pilgrims make their way to the tiny hamlet in southern India where Sathya Sai Baba's ashram (spiritual headquarters) is located. They come not only from India but from virtually every country of the world. Over the years, followers have organized to foster the construction of a variety of buildings and facilities to house and otherwise accommodate the ever-increasing number of visitors. The name of Sathya Sai Baba's ashram is Prasanthi Nilayam, which means "abode of the highest peace".
Sathya Sai Baba interacts with all people on a heart-to-heart basis. There are no intermediaries between himself and those who yearn for knowledge and experience of God. Every day for more than 50 years, Sathya Sai Baba has walked among and talked with the spiritual pilgrims who gather around him in increasing numbers. He offers solace and inspiration to all sincere seekers of truth.
Education. Sathya Sai Baba places great importance on proper education for young people. Parents and community leaders are urged to concern themselves with the informal as well as the formal experiences to which their children and young adults are exposed.
He has established a model education system, which includes primary schools, secondary schools, and an accredited university with three campuses, offering undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. degrees. No fees are charged to students, and admission is open to all, regardless of race, religion, or economic condition.
In addition to emphasizing the pursuit of academic excellence, Sathya Sai Baba's system of "integral education" is designed to foster self-discipline and pro-social conduct. Students are required to take courses on morality and spirituality and to devote several hours each week to some form of community service. Sathya Sai Baba says that "the end of education is character".
Let the different faiths exist, let them flourish, and let the glory of God be sung in all the languages and a variety of tunes. That should be the ideal. Respect the differences between the faiths and recognize them as valid as long as they do not extinguish the flame of unity. Sathya Sai Baba

ReplyDeleteI am not the body - a mass of flesh, bones and blood
I am not the mind - a bundle of wasteful desires manifest and unmanifest
I am not the felling of infatuation that obstructs my way to liberation;
I Am That Eternal Paramatman, who is aware of the power that I AM
Students!
Accept My Blessings. Received your letters full of fragrant flowers of information and prayerful salutation. They have caused this nice letter to be sent to you. This letter is giving joy to Sai and bringing Sai to you.
The need of the hour is not to picture life as a garden of happiness and romantic love, but to hold it out as a battle (field) meant to be lived as an ideal of heroism and courage. In the present circumstances, a play of words would be of no use at all. By obtaining mere degrees, we can neither make your motherland glow with glory nor can you blossom for yourselves. Seeking Truth, you should transform yourselves into great devotees, lovers of God and be ready for any supreme sacrifice including laying down life itself. Bidding good-bye to all selfishness and self-interest, making Divine love as the bow and Wisdom as arrow, be heroic students placing your faith in transcendental truth and God.
You should know that you are born to achieve great and stupendous tasks in life. You are the children of God, heroes in action, great soldiers in the age of Kali, full of compassion and Divine Love resolved to make Divinity resound with success in the world.
This is not the time to rest and sleep. The future image of a glorious new Bharath depends on you. The mother is awaiting your arrival on the scene. If the morality of Bharath is destroyed, the world will sink into utter ruin. If the spirituality of Bharath suffers any setback, it will be for the destruction of the world. The unity and the integrity of the nation would suffer a setback. The morality of Bharath is its sweet experience of Divine Love. The Love for God should saturate and flow as the very life-blood. Hearts should fill and overflow with waves of idealism. Don't become slaves of external life and education and destroy the small saplings of spirituality in your heart. Light the lamps of Truth and dispel all weakness in your heart. You are messengers of God and not servants of the Lord of Death. Establish the Kingdom of devotion. Earn the love of God. Develop spiritual knowledge along with worldly education. Love based on gunas suffers modification. make that transcendental love as your goal in life.
What happiness did the Demon Somakasura enjoy, stealing the sacred scriptures and abusing Hari?
What did ten-headed (Ravana) carry with him, seeking the wife of another person?
By how much did Duryodhana gain by even denying an inch of space (to Pandavas)?
Could Kamsa, who vengefully and watchfully killed the innocent children, save himself (from death)?
Even today that would be the fate of people, who are opposed to Dharma.
What more can I convey to you? Recognizing this truth carefully behave yourselves on proper path and conduct.
Thus, Sai,
the Resident of your heart.

ReplyDeleteRemember that contentment will not make one an idler. It is an attribute of true pure (Sathwic) character. It will make the mind turn always towards the Lord. It will save you from the tribulations one goes through to satisfy unimportant wants and to cater to selfish needs. It will direct human talents towards efforts that elevate. The contented person will also be truthful and will therefore be in constant communion with the Atma. That is to say, such a person can be immersed in meditation for long periods without rest or feeling fatigued. Contentment is the royal road to meditation.
- BABA
Joy and grief are as day and night; they have to be put up with and gone through. They will neither appear nor disappear at your will! Both are related to the physical or the material - the body; they do not affect the soul. You are liberated the moment you transcend joy and grief. What is there to grieve in life? Did you grieve when your body underwent changes? The child disappears in the boy, the boy in the youth, the youth is lost in the middle-aged man who in turn is lost in the old man. You never weep over these changes that affect the body; why then, when the body is lost in death? Whatever changes your body may suffer, the Atma, the splendour of the true Wisdom remains immortal. Being established unshakably in this knowledge is the sign of the wise, the Jnani.
